Core Collection; £21.99 Boots
Buffing Brush; I know a lot of people have been talking about this buffing brush but I thought I'd throw my two cents in and also review the rest of the core collection for you all so then you can obviously decide whether you want to purchase this or not. I use the Buffing Brush near the end of my make up when I apply my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in light. I know a lot of people use this for foundation application and I can honestly say I haven't tried it for foundation as I use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush for my foundation application. This applies my skin finish really well, I feel I can achieve a matte flawless look effortlessly with this brush which is brilliant especially if you're in a rush in the morning. Its super soft like all of the Real Techniques brushes as they are made of synthetic taklon bristles, which also makes for easy cleaning.
Contour Brush; I really enjoy using this brush, it is absolutely perfect for contouring! I like to use this brush with my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in soft and gentle as I find it applies it beautifully and allows me to achieve a really natural glow effortlessly. This brush is a brilliant size so you can apply a highlighter to your brow bone easily as well with this, so its a good all round contour brush.
Pointed Foundation Brush; I'm going to be honest and say I haven't actually used this brush yet, but I will try using it one day to apply my foundation with. I'm happy using my Stippling brush for my foundation application and if I'm honest when I look a this brush I feel like it is going to take me forever to apply my foundation with as the brush is quite small in comparison to most foundation brushes. However the only thing I will say is I imagine that this brush is good for getting in all the nooks and crannies of your face so I must try this soon.
Detailer Brush; This I really like surprisingly. When I was gifted this collection I thought I wouldn't use this brush at all because it really is iddy biddy! However this applies concealer really nicely as you can get right into the inner eye socket and also down the sides of your nostrils where I sometimes get redness. If unlike me you don't suffer with red areas on your face then this works well as a brush to apply lipstick with as you can get really nice definition on your lips due to the size of this brush.
Overall I really think that this collection is good value for money, and it comes in a nice little case which can also stand up on your dressing table which I think is a nice touch and it travels easy as the case can be closed to protect your brushes in your bag. I like how the Real Techniques brushes are colour co-ordinated as well but all of the brushes are multi use so you can play around with them and find out what works best for you.
Hope this review helped and let me know if you have tried any of the Real Techniques brushes.
